The Nalum Linear Pendant evokes the motion of waves and reflections of light off water's surface with its stunning, wave-shaped glass tube. The inner, textured tube is surrounded by an outer glass cylinder which houses the light source that directs light both upwards and downwards. The inner tube can be rotated to experiment with different angles of reflection from the light source. As a playful detail, small figurines of surfers can be placed on the inner glass.

About Sebastian Hepting
Sebastian Hepting is a German designer, based in Munich, with a focus on lighting design. Hepting's career began as an assistant to renowned designer Vladimir Kagan, where he aided in the production of Kagan's furniture designs in New York and Italy. In 2004, he began a decades-long collaboration with Munich-based studio Ingo Maurer GmbH.
Hepting's motivation is the creation of visual poetry with the innovative use of materials and technology, and he believes the immateriality of light and shadow make them magical to work with. New technologies in lighting are often the inspiration for his work, but they are often hidden in the background of the design to highlight their unique effects.
