The Maroux Wall Sconce by Christiane Lemieux is a study in restraint and an exploration of proportion, material, and the soft diffusion of light. Inspired by the disciplined geometry of French 1930s lighting design, its lineage traces to Pierre Chareau's Maison de Verre and the sculptural rationalism of Michel Roux-Spitz. Here, light becomes spatial and deliberate. A vertical cylinder stands poised like a column of captured air. This sconce works beautifully as a sculptural wall element or in rhythmic pairs to define a passageway. Hand-finished metalwork ensures subtle patina variation, giving each piece quiet character over time.
