Answer
The 11.5” Somerset pendant will work over your 117” island. Ideally, we want it to hang 30 to 33” above the island surface. This can be achieved with the 11.5” wide medium pendant by using the 12” extension stem that is provided in the box. As for quantity, I would recommend a total of 3 pendants spaced roughly 27”-30” apart. I will also mention that a lot of the design trends are showing larger scaled pendants over islands. If you wanted to go larger, you could go up to the 15.5” wide version and use a 6” extension stem. The preference is completely yours but both sizes will work over your island.

Perfect kitchen island pendant. Allowed for different height options. Looks fantastic dimmed too! Received many compliments so far.
Very nice...but
Love the look...but assembly was a challenge. The way the rod/holder sits on the globe is a little precarious. Makes me afraid to dust them will have to be very careful. And they don't even hang perfectly straight. Regardless we kept them and love the look in our newly remodeled kitchen.
Nice addition to our kitchen renovation!
We had our kitchen renovated three years ago and decided to replace our island pendants with recessed LED lights. Functionally that worked but we realized we were missing a little bling in the kitchen. These pendants did the trick! They don't detract from the decor in the glass cabinets and work very well in the space.

Great design and quality
The pendant light was packed well and easy to assemble. Hanging the light was easy but it two of us to hang the light. One to hold the light and one to connect the wires. Once the fixture was wired and mounted one person could install the globe.

Beautiful Bold Globe Pendants
Love love these pendants over my kitchen island. They make me happy! Gorgeous elegant and high quality. The brushed nickel framing makes a statement of modernity but the beautiful globes add a classic retro feel which is exactly what I was looking for. Customer service was awesome!
