The 12 Volt Path Light is ideal for all drop in LED path and spread needs. This fixture features thick cast construction, a glass lensed dome, and an easy one point shade connection.
Includes 48 inch usable #18-2, SPT-1W leads, 8 inch in ground slotted stake, and 2 gel-filled wire nuts. Note: Required low voltage transformer and optional accessories sold separately.

Answer
I would recommend using an LED bulb since this fixture has a socket that is rated for 2.5 watts max. It is likely that the wattage of a bi-pin halogen bulb will exceed the maximum wattage.
