Solar is a new type of object, a contemporary hearth around which to gather and chat, at home or outside. Features a white diffuser body with a dark wood top. The hemispherical body, made of polyethylene, is stable even when it is tilted by 15 degrees. The angling determines the quantity of light diffused, allowing multiple effects and atmospheres to be created. Electric cable covered in neoprene for outdoor use. Fixture is hardwired and requires installation. UL listed for wet locations.

Born in Toulouse, France in 1966, in 1990 he graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Création Industrielle ENSCI in Paris and began working with Marc Berthier. In 2000, he co-founded Studio Massaud with Daniel Pouzet and has expanded his interests to the various fields of architecture. His style is a constant search for synthesis, universality and absence of time. For this reason, his creations do not follow fads and trends as related to a small space of time.

Very interesting concept. Two issues seem a bit strange though. The first is how this product is powered. It may be called "Solar Floor Lamp", yet is it solar? Spec sheet says it is 120v, yet no cords are evident in any of the photos.
And the second issue is you would think for over $1500., the rather old technology style bulb could be included.
