The Oxenwood Chandelier exhibits masculine attributes that will make it a powerful statement piece in a room, as well as a contrasting one. The black shantung shade that wraps artfully around the conjoined fluted metal shapes has a silver lining. Juxtaposed with the brass finish on the wrought-iron, the illumination reflects from both warm and cool surfaces to make the gold and black chandelier gleam.

Clarence Mallari is a senior lighting designer at Currey & Company, where he shapes expressive, finely crafted fixtures rooted in material storytelling and artisanal technique. Mallari leans into the tactile potential of mixed media - braided rope, wrought iron, hand-woven wicker, seeded glass - combining them into forms that feel both organic and rigorously composed. His designs often reference historical - and sometimes whimsical - sources: for example, his Quennell chandelier evokes the seeded glass canisters of classic lanterns, while his Emmental chandelier plays on concentric rings inspired by the look of Swiss cheese.
