The Sycamore Chandelier was inspired by the distinctive spiral pattern of winged sycamore seeds as they fall from the tree. The chandelier's glass shades are made through a process called slumping, in which the glass is passed through an oven where heat and gravity cause the glass to slump over a mould into the desired shape. The interior of the glass is sandblasted to aid in light diffusion and the exterior is painted in a muted shade.
The chandelier's frame supports multiple tiers of these glass shades to evoke the spinning motion of the seeds as they fall. Each tier can be pivoted 45 degrees for a dynamic look. Sycamore is outfitted with Tala's Sphere III LED bulbs, which warm in color temperature from 2800K to 2000K as the fixture is dimmed. Includes one 9 inch, one 13 inch, and one 17 inch downrod.
